Hostile Work Environment

Harassment in the workplace is not limited to sexual harassment. A hostile work environment is a form of unlawful discrimination and can arise from harassment based on your sex, gender, race, national origin, color, religion, age, or disability. When an employer subjects an employee to harassment and/or discrimination based on his or her membership to one of these protected classes to such a degree that it interferes with the employee’s ability to complete his or her job duties and the employee fears going to work each day, the employer may have constructed a hostile work environment.
